Privacy policy

This policy explains what data the Dentica app collects, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Dentica is a practice app for dentists, operated from Egypt ("we"). You can reach us at hello@getdentica.com.

You decide which patient information you record and why. For patient records, you are responsible for that information and we process it on your behalf. For your own account and billing, we are responsible.

What we collect

Your account: name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), the clinics you add and the share each clinic pays you.

Patient records you enter: name, mobile number, date of birth, gender, address, guardian details, medical history, dental chart, treatment plans, appointments, clinical notes, X-rays, photos and documents, invoices and payments, and consent decisions.

Technical data: sign-in sessions, IP address, device and app version, and error reports with personal data removed.

Why we use it

To provide the app: scheduling, clinical records, treatment plans, invoices and your earnings per clinic.

To keep the service secure and working: sign-in, preventing misuse, diagnosing errors and backups.

To meet legal obligations, such as keeping financial records.

We do not sell personal data, and we never use patient records for advertising.

Sensitive health information

Medical and dental information is sensitive. You record each patient’s consent in Dentica, including who consented, how and when. A patient can withdraw consent at any time by asking you.

Who we share it with

Service providers that run Dentica for us: DigitalOcean (hosting), Supabase (database, in the EU), Resend (email) and Sentry (error monitoring). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.

WhatsApp messages are sent by you from your own WhatsApp account; Dentica only prepares the text.

Authorities, when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete records or your account, they are removed from use straight away and permanently erased within 30 days, except financial records we must keep by law, which are erased when that duty ends.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how it is used, by writing to hello@getdentica.com. Patients should contact their dentist first.

You can delete your account at any time. See “Delete your account” for the steps.

You may also complain to Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Center.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, each account can only see its own records, and files are served through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure; we will tell you about a breach that affects you as the law requires.

Changes

We will post updates here with a new date and tell you about significant changes in the app or by email.
